Clara Stahlmann Roeder".

Biology; Junior Fellow

Clara Stahlmann Roeder is PhD candidate in Biology studying the evolution of social behavior. She grew up in St. Paul, MN and obtained her B.S. in Biology at the University of Chicago. Her research examines how organisms communicate and respond to past social experiences and how social behavior changes with age. She primarily studies these concepts within the context of fighting behavior in the forked fungus beetle using behavioral experiments but is expanding her research into the chemical analysis of social cues. In her free time, Clara sings with the Oratorio Society of Virginia, teaches lindy hop lessons with UVA's swing dance club, and cooks for friends and family.
