English; Junior Fellow
I am a 4th-year PhD student in English. Before UVa, I studied English and Mathematics at Williams College, where I wrote a creative nonfiction thesis on knot theory, Zen meditation, and movements of the mind, titled A Neighborhood of the Missing Knot (in whose shadow were an aborted English thesis on Virginia Woolf and Ling Shuhua, and a stillborn math thesis on non-edge-to-edge tilings of the sphere by regular polygons). Now, I'm working towards a dissertation tentatively titled, Making Sense and Nonsense: Mathematics and Global Poetry. I am also interested in reading and discussion in critical theory, literature & philosophy, digital humanities.
